Gallery: Five players that could replace Kieran Trippier at Tottenham this summer

It is no secret that the future of Kieran Trippier at Tottenham is plagued with uncertainty and debate.

The 28-year-old England international was heavily criticised throughout the 2018/19 season following a number of poor performances and mistakes.

Trippier alongside many of his Spurs teammates participated in the 2018 FIFA World Cup that took place prior to the 2018/19 season.

He had a successful campaign on a personal level. He scored a magnificent free kick during England’s semi-final defeat against Croatia. Whilst this was his only goal, his performance overall was enough to satisfy most Tottenham fans heading into the upcoming Premier League season.

It wasn’t to be, however. Plenty of mistakes matched with average performances have potentially cost him his place in North London.

With clubs such as Juventus and Napoli swirling for his signature (talkSPORT), we list the top five players that could replace Kieran Trippier should he leave the club this summer

There hasn’t been a whole lot of talk regarding Ricardo Pereria joining Spurs, but the 25-year-old Portuguese right-back shouldn’t be left out of the discussion.

Pereria joined Leicester City from FC Porto in July 2018 for a fee of 22m (Leicester Mercury).

Since then, he took part in 35 of Leicester’s 38 Premier League matches, providing seven assists along with two goals.

Pereria has been linked with a move to Juventus (Tuttosport) as the Italian giants look to find replacements for Joao Cancelo, who looks headed to Manchester City.

Kieran Trippier also finds himself linked with Juventus (talkSPORT).
