It is no secret that the future of Kieran Trippier at Tottenham is plagued with uncertainty and debate.

The 28-year-old England international was heavily criticised throughout the 2018/19 season following a number of poor performances and mistakes.

Trippier alongside many of his Spurs teammates participated in the 2018 FIFA World Cup that took place prior to the 2018/19 season.

He had a successful campaign on a personal level. He scored a magnificent free kick during England’s semi-final defeat against Croatia. Whilst this was his only goal, his performance overall was enough to satisfy most Tottenham fans heading into the upcoming Premier League season.

It wasn’t to be, however. Plenty of mistakes matched with average performances have potentially cost him his place in North London.

With clubs such as Juventus and Napoli swirling for his signature (talkSPORT), we list the top five players that could replace Kieran Trippier should he leave the club this summer

Trippier is not as horrible as most fans make him out to be. With that being said, however, Trippier’s time at Tottenham should come to an end.

With various other options, all younger, Spurs should look to cash in on Trippier and invest in a younger talent that would ultimately provide more long-term and can develop under the guidance of Mauricio Pochettino.

Wan-Bissaka seems to be off to Manchester United, so ideally Spurs should look to sign Max Aarons. But with Crystal Palace identifying the 19-year-old as a potential replacement for Wan-Bissaka, Daniel Levy must get a move on if the club is serious about finding a formidable replacement.
