Gallery: Five things we learned from the 1-0 home win against Brighton

From the thrills of last Wednesday against Man City to the frustratingly dull affair that was the Brighton match.

It always looked as if it would be one of those that Spurs would romp if they grabbed an early goal, but struggle if they didn’t.

With Brighton fighting for Premier League survival and Spurs fighting for a top four finish, it really was defence against attack for 90 minutes.

Here are five things we learned from the late Tottenham victory:

In my opinion, Pochettino left it far too late to change the game against Brighton. The tippy tappy football clearly wasn't breaking down the relegation-threatened team, but at no point did Spurs mix it up. They never clipped a ball into Llorente's chest to get in direct. They never pushed the fullbacks into wingbacks and moved Son and Moura down the middle. It took until nearly the 80th minute to even make a change. Spurs really got away with one last night.
