Gallery: The top five Spurs third-choice kits from the last decade

Most football clubs globally not only have home and away kits, but also have choice third kits. Its main purpose is to obviously prevent a clash in kits with the opposing team.

Not only this, but clubs are able to generate more income if they produce three kits for fans to choose from.

Often the third kit is a whacky design that does not necessarily reflect the club’s traditional colours.

Tottenham have certainly released some fantastic third kits over the years. It is likely that the 2019/20 rendition of Tottenham’s third kit will be released within the next few weeks, so with that being said, we look at the top five best Tottenham third kits (in our opinion) from the last 10 years from the 09/10 season to the 2018/19 season.

At this point it is fair to say that purple really suits Tottenham Hotspur. In 2017, the club released a spectacular purple and yellow third kit that would be used for the 2017/18 season.

Arguably, this is the best Spurs third kit in the last decade and one of the best this century so far.

The 2017/18 season marked the club’s first full season at Wembley Stadium whilst their new stadium was being constructed. It was a transition season for the club. The club recognised this by incorporating the famous Shield that captured the club’s crest – a nod back to the 1960s.

The third kit was subtle but was also eye-catching. Yellow worked wonders up against the purple backdrop.
