Alnwick to go out on loan following Pletikosa arrival

Harry Redknapp has revealed that he is planning to loan out goalkeeper Ben Alnwick.

The keeper was left out of Tottenham’s 25-man Premier League squad, with Heurelho GomeS, Carlo Cudicini and new arrival Stipe Pletikosa all ahead of him in the pecking order.

“I thought Stipe was a great loan for us, we couldn’t go wrong on that one. We’re looking to loan Ben Alnwick out and we needed cover,” said Redknapp.

“Carlo Cudicini has just come back from a serious injury and Gomes is also injured at the moment. It was important to get another goalkeeper in.

“Stipe’s a top goalkeeper, you don’t get all those caps for Croatia otherwise. He’s also a great character and I’m sure he’ll do well for us.”
