Spurs to step up interest in central defender

Gary Cahill - Tottenham Hotspur Football News

Tottenham Hotspur are ready to step up their interest in Bolton Wanderers defender Gary Cahill.

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp was in attendance to watch the England international score a screamer in Bolton’s 4-0 win against QPR on Saturday.

Cahill is attracting interest also from the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool.  Spurs are short on central defensive options due to William Gallas and Ledley King having injury problems.  We also released Woodgate on a free transfer to Stoke in the summer and there is doubts on whether Sebastien Bassong will be staying at the club.

The priorities for Spurs at the moment are a centre back, a central midfielder and a striker.
