Ginola: “Spurs sent a message to the world of football”

According to former White Hart Lane hero David Ginola, Tottenham ‘sent a message to the world of football’ with their display against Real Madrid last night.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men more than matched the holders as they claimed a well deserved poinr, coupled with Dortmund’s draw in Cyprus means we move a step closer towards the Champions League knockout phase.

We have been one of the more outstanding sides in the Premier League in recent seasons, becoming genuine title contenders, and our former winger Ginola claims our performance against Real proves we are now ready to be a major force in Europe too.

“It is not really the result itself, it is the message that they send to the world of football” said the Frenchman, who was co-hosting on Wednesday’s Sports Breakfast on talkSPORT.

Ginola continued:”Spurs have been playing great football but they were not showing they were capable of taking European football by storm. Last night, they did.

“The performance was great, the set-up was great, tactically they were brilliant. They were not stressed, they played like a very mature team, even with young players.Spurs are going in the right direction.”

Nice words from Ginola there, do you agree with his sentiments? Are we now ready to dine at the top table on a more regular basis. Let us know your thoughts on what Ginola had said.
