Juventus plot Defoe move

News | Sam Parker | September 8, 2010 at 12:25 pm

Italian giants, Juventus are reportedly plotting a January swoop for Jermain Defoe.

Defoe enjoyed his best goalscoring season at Tottenham Hotspur last season and impressed on the international stage this week, grabbing a hat-trick against Bulgaria on Friday.

His stock has increased in Europe because of this, in addition to his performance against Young Boys in the Champions League.

Spurs will compete in their maiden Champions League campaign and ‘the Old Lady’ will keep tabs on Defoe’s performances with the possibility of launching a £14million bid.

It will require a substantial bid to tempt Spurs into such a sale, with Defoe regarded as an indispensable member of the squad, with four years still to run on his current deal.

Hope we sell, he's not that great. Good goalscorer but his movement is poor and so brainless in general play.

Prefer to play Gio or Keane with Pav if we want to get better. We've finally sorted the rest of the team out, just need to go back to having technical forwards like Keane and Berbatov again to be a really top side.

DEFOE IS THE BEST STRIKER ON SPURS BOOKS. PAV HAS NO PACE AT ALL., KEANE WAS GOOD BUT NOW LOSING IT, NEED A NEW UP AND COMING STRIKER…. SO DEFOE AND CROUCH UNTIL JAN….WITH SUPER PAV ON BENCH

Defoe is a out and out finisher. There are few of those left. But eh if we can sign someone better for cheaper then sure. But personally I doubt anyone can get the best out of Defoe except for Harry.
