Pochettino Announces Tottenham Stay

Record-breaking Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino has put unfounded claims that he’s to be leaving the club to rest, announcing he’s staying in North London.

Naturally, over the Summer, silly transfer rumours develop and speculation begins over anyone involved in football who seems to be doing their job well. Recently, Pochettino had been linked with Spanish giants Barcelona, as the Catalonian side have disappointed this season, having been knocked out of the Champions League in the quarter-finals and looking all set to lose the title to rivals, Real Madrid.  We all know that Poch has insisted that he cannot manage Barcelona due to his Espanyol connection.

However, more recent reports had suggested Inter Milan were keen to prise the Argentine away from Tottenham with a £4.2 million buy-out clause. Pochettino responded to this speculation by denying the existence of the buy-out clause and re-asserting his loyalty to this season’s Premier League runners-up. He said:

“No, there is no buy-out clause in my contract. I will stay here next season.”

“There are many, many rumours, but I am committed to Tottenham and I have no reason to leave the club. I will stay here, don’t worry.”

“Pre-season starts on July 3, you will see me here, don’t worry.”

I don’t think any of us realistically doubted Pochettino’s loyalty to Spurs. I personally cannot see any major names departing the club until perhaps after a season in the new stadium. There’s a mass of excitement around the club at the moment and that’s only going to attract players and staff, not repel them. But what are your thoughts? Can you see anyone leaving? Or is there someone who you think needs to go?
