Pochettino provides update on Kane’s fitness

Mauricio Pochettino provided an update on the fitness of Harry Kane after the striker was substituted during Tottenham’s 4-1 defeat to Liverpool.

The striker was on course for another hat-trick after bagging two goals, but had to be replaced by Fernando Llorente with just a couple of minutes left to play after feeling the back of his leg.

The immediate assumption was that Kane had tweaked his hamstring, it didn’t look bad enough where had to be helped from the field of play. However, the fear was still running through me that we could be without him for a couple of weeks.

Pochettino was asked by the press following the win at Wembley about Kane, to which he said: “No, no. He was tired at the end. That is normal. A massive effort against Bournemouth, Real Madrid and today. It’s normal he was a little bit tired. It will not be a problem.”

That’s a massive relief, personally I would limit Kane to a place on the substitites bench for Wednesday night’s League Cup game against Wembley. We have bigger things to worry about when we face Manchester United in the Premier League on Saturday lunchtime.
