Spurs to fight Hammers for Babel
News | Sam Parker | August 31, 2010 at 2:01 pm
Spurs are reportedly locked in talks with Liverpool in a move for Ryan Babel.
Spurs have been thwarted in their attempts to bring in a new striker so far and have turned to the out-of-favour Liverpool forward.
Roy Hodgson is thought to let Babel move on for the right price, though he has been rumoured to be being used as a make-weight in a move for West Ham’s Carlton Cole.
With Robbie Keane likely to seal yet another deadline day move, Spurs will need a fourth striker if they are to compete on four fronts this season.
Liverpool will however be keen on securing a replacement before they let the Dutch flyer go.
Babel will probably jump at an opportunity to escape a miserable time on Merseyside and will have plenty to prove in the Premier League.

With the (very) occasional flashes of brilliance
So a very large part of me cringed upon reading this story
Then I thought, perhaps this is another player that Harry can work his magic on, its a long shot, but no doubt the boy has talent (somewhere) and it might just take the right manager to bring it out of him
That being said, he's no Ashley Young
