Report: Club could use ‘fluid relationship’ with Spurs star’s agent to clinch transfer

According to a report in El Diario Vasco, Real Sociedad have a good relationship with Bryan Gil’s agent, which could aid them in winning the race for the Tottenham winger.

Sociedad’s interest in Gil first came to light on Monday, with Mundo Deportivo reporting that La Real had set their sights on the Tottenham man.

Interestingly, the outlet added that the 22-year-old does not want to leave Spurs on a straight loan deal and would want any temporary switch to include an option to buy.

Real Sociedad are keen on signing Bryan Gil

El Diario Vasco have now claimed that the Sociedad hierarchy maintains a ‘fluid relationship’ with Gil’s representative, Amadeo Rengel, which could facilitate the player’s move to Reale Arena.

The report explains that this is not the first time La Real have tried to sign the 22-year-old, having expressed an interest in the winger two years ago before being beaten to his signature by Valencia.

The outlet says that the club’s relationship with Rengel means that they ‘would not have major problems’ in sealing the deal on this occasion. Interestingly, it is explained that Gil himself ‘wants a change of scenery’, given his bit-part role under Ange Postecoglou at Spurs.

However, the publication also points out that the Tottenham man is similar to some of the options Imanol Alguacil’s men already have and the La Liga side are thus also looking at other alternatives.

Spurs Web Opinion

If Tottenham do make Gil available on loan (which I believe they will likely do towards the end of the window), a whole host of Spanish sides will show interest in taking the winger as he gave a decent account of himself at Valencia and Sevilla during the last two seasons.
