Alasdair Gold reveals winger is currently on his way to Hotspur Way for Spurs medical

Villarreal winger Arnaut Danjuma is on his way to Hotspur Way to undergo a medical with Tottenham ahead of completing a loan deal from under the noses of Everton, according to Football.London.

It was reported by The Daily Mail last week that Spurs were interested in adding Danjuma to their squad, but they faced competition from three other Premier League clubs in trying to secure a deal for the 25-year-old.

Apparently, Everton had an offer turned down for Danjuma last week (talkSPORT). Bournemouth were also reportedly keen on bringing the attacker back to the club, after he left the Cherries in August 2021.

Sources at Football Insider were led to believe that developments had been made between Everton and Danjuma, and that the move to Merseyside would be announced later today. It was expected that the Dutchman would join the Toffees on loan.

Now though, it seems Tottenham may be set to capture the player after all, despite everything appearing to be in place for the switch to Everton.

Spurs Web Opinion

How typical of Spurs, to do absolutely nothing all window and then move in like this for a player who has practically signed for Everton already. I’m not complaining, though, as Danjuma is a very decent player who would improve our attacking options. Let’s see if we actually pull this one off.
