Barcelona interested in Griffiths capture

According to The Daily Star Barcelona are planning a summer swoop for Spurs prolific youngster Reo Griffiths.

The Spanish giants are aiming to give Spurs a taste of their own medicine – with Mauricio Pochettino hoping to snatch 18-year-old Ricard ‘Rique’ Piug from the Nou Camp.

The article adds that the La Liga champions can sign teenage goal sensation Griffiths when he turns 18 on June 27th and would just have to pay Spurs compensation, but nothing like the amount a rival Premier League outfit would be forced to fork out.

Griffiths has been dubbed the next Harry Kane after some staggering goal-scoring exploits this season.
He was born in Highgate, north London and played for Leyton Orient before joining Spurs in July 2016.This season he bagged 34 goals – 13 more than his nearest rival.

The article goes on to say that Barcelona’z interest grew last month when Griffiths scored four and made three in a 9-0 thrashing of Arsenal and that incredible win came six days after he grabbed a goal as the Spurs youngsters beat Chelsea’s heralded Under-18s 3-0 – their first home defeat for three years and in February Griffiths netted a hat-trick as Arsenal were beaten 4-1 in a Under-18 Premier League Cup clash.

The article goes on to say that Barcelona’s interest in Griffiths is also in response to Spurs’ pursuit of their own starlet Puig who has reportedly decided not to commit to the Catalans and Spurs are said to be close to an agreement to sign him.
