Danny Rose Injury Set-Back

Talented wing-back Danny Rose has been out of action since damaging his knee ligaments in January in a 0-0 away draw with Sunderland. It had recently been reported that Rose had resumed full training and was expected to be soon approaching full fitness.

However a statement from the club has revealed that the return to full training was perhaps premature. Tottenham Hotspur took to the official website to state:

“He recently returned to First Team training, however the problem has not resolved fully therefore a decision has been made to proceed to surgery.”

Rose subsequently underwent exploratory surgery on his left knee and is now expected to be out until next season. According to SkySources Rose will struggle to regain full fitness before the start of the new season and Spurs fans will realistically have to wait until September to see the England international kick a football again.

This update is reminiscent to Erik Lamela’s long-term absence, as he too has required surgery and recently seen his return date pushed back to next season.

Danny Rose is approaching his 10 year anniversary at the club and has already committed his future, having signed a 5 year contract.
