‘Hard one’ – Chris Sutton shares his Brighton v Spurs score prediction

Former Celtic and Blackburn Rovers forward Chris Sutton has shared his score prediction prior to the Premier League encounter between Brighton and Hove Albion and Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham headed into last weekend having been unbeaten in the top flight so far this season but were humbled 3-1 by their north London rivals Arsenal in arguably their worst performance of the new campaign.

With Antonio Conte’s side having played out a 0-0 draw in their Champions League group stage fixture at Eintracht Frankfurt on Tuesday night, Spurs will be looking to bounce back with victory against the in-form Seagulls.

Last time out, Brighton held Liverpool to a 3-3 draw at Anfield courtesy of a Leandro Trossard hat-trick, the same player who scored a late winner at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last season.

Sutton believes that Spurs will be held to a draw by the Seagulls on the south coast with Conte’s men yet to find their gear this season.

He told BBC Sport: “This is a hard one because of how well Brighton are playing – tricky Leandro Trossard got a treble at Anfield, and Roberto de Zerbi made a mark and showed he is a front-foot coach in his first game in charge.

“Tottenham have not really got going yet this season, in terms of playing as well as we know they can do, but the way the Seagulls are likely to play might suit Spurs.

“Sutton’s prediction: 1-1”
