Moura shown around Hotspur Way

An article in todays Telegraph describes how Spurs have shown Brazilian start Lucas Moura around Hotspur Way as they bid to secure his signature from Paris Saint-Germain before the transfer window shuts next week.

The article says that PSG are willing to sell Moura for around £22 million and Mauricio Pochettino and Daniel Levy have held talks with him about a move and it adds that it is understood that the 25-year-old has visited Tottenham’s Hotspur Way training ground with the permission of The French champions and is interested in a transfer to the Premier League.

It goes on to say that Moura has played predominantly on the right for PSG and would add a greater attacking dimension to manager Mauricio Pochettino’s squad.

It adds how Pochettino and Tottenham have also held talks with Bordeaux over Malcom as the club look for the best way to improve our attacking threats while working in the confines of a restricted budget

Manchester United tried to sign Moura before he moved to PSG in 2013 and were interested this window until the arrival of Alexis Sanchez.

The Brazilian has made more than 200 appearances for the Ligue 1 club however PSG need to sell players this month and want to offload Moura, as well as Argentine Javier Pastore and Portugal winger Goncalo Guedes. It is believed Moura’s wage demands are not a stumbling block for Spurs.

Sevilla and Borussia Dortmund are credited with showing interest in Moura but the article says it’s Spurs who are currently in the driving seat for his signature, with Moura thought to have been impressed by Tottenham’s sales pitch and is excited at the thought of playing under Pochettino.

The article adds that another plus to signing the winger is the fact Moura has not played in the Champions League this season, which means he would be eligible to appear for Spurs in the competition.

Well we remember the “Willian Incident” so we will hold off getting to excited about it just yet. I guess the question is who makes way for the Brazilian in the champions league squad should he arrive. With the imminent return of Toby Alderweireld you’d expect it would be Juan Foyth, Lamela is being linked with a return to Italy so possibly there. An interesting conundrum for Pochettino for sure.
