PLAYER RATINGS: Tottenham 3-1 Fulham

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
Dom Le Roy

Hugo Lloris – A world-class save from a close range Rodallega bullet header and a smart stop from Sidwell’s penalty limited the Cottagers to just one goal. His superb performance was exemplified late on by a scrambled save from Amorebieta.

Kyle Naughton – Solid at right back. A more than capable understudy for Walker. Having a good spell under Sherwood.

Younes Kaboul – Started off shakily, as would appear to be the norm, but grew into the game, making a crunching challenge on Karagounis, and finding the net with his knee from Eriksen’s free-kick.

Zeki Fryers – Looked comfortable throughout. Centre-back appears to be his preferred position – certainly, he has impressed there more this season than at left-back.

Danny Rose – An improved defensive performance from Rose who has thankfully managed to keep himself out of any negative headlines this week. More subdued going forward but he may have been making a concerted effort to be defensively solid, after a weak performance at the Hawthorns.

Aaron Lennon – Another vastly improved display from Lennon, picking up another assist with a brilliant left-footed cross for Kane. Worked hard in defence and looked a threat going forward, even providing another defence-splitting left-footed dink for Kane; he is evidently growing in confidence.

Paulinho – Excellent performance from the Brazilian, who is starting to indicate on a regular basis just why he is picked for his national side so often. Controlled the tempo of the game and put himself on the scoresheet.

Nacer Chadli – Offered little today.

Christian Eriksen – Another fine performance from the Dane, who created two goals with delightful pacy and direct free-kicks, and generally provided the impetus behind our attacks.

Harry Kane – Got himself on the scoresheet for the 3rd successive game and is also growing in confidence. Makes intelligent runs to link up well with Eriksen, Lennon and Adebayor.

Emmanuel Adebayor – Quieter today. Dropped deep on a regular basis to pick up the ball but was never in the key areas when he needed to be. Still, a decent performance from the Togolese forward.

Mousa Dembele – Solid.

Roberto Soldado – Hungry but quiet.

Andros Townsend – Won a free-kick in the short time he was on the pitch.

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. Tend to agree wth John , could not believe that Sandro was not included in the team today , Chadli offered nothing today against Fulham. Mind you i am totally bemused by Sherwood lately with team selections, tactics and baffling comments he comes out with .Cannot wait until the end of the season when we will hopefully get a proper manager installed ..

  2. I think Chadli is the victim of Sherwood's stupidity – he's a winger/No. 10 but today he was our deepest lying midfielder, which is ridiculous. He should be playing on the left wing with Eriksen as No. 10, that's all. Besides, playing Chadli as holding midfielder and then saying that Sandro is not good enough to even make it for the bench is hilarious. Good performance from the lads today, but Sherwood out. He knows he's not going to be there next season and does what he wants now, not what's the best for the club. Appointing him as a manager was the greatest mistake the clus have made. Let's now pray for Van Gaal.

  3. Sandro not good enough shows he doesn't know what he's talking about sooner Sherwood goes the better no better than AVB just getting lucky proved that then we have played a top team always lost

  4. Who missed the initial tackle which led to the Fulham goal. Paulihno. Who scored a goal that even Darren Bent (Mrs. Rednapp) could have scored-Paulihno. He did nothing in the game that “he is not good enough” (Sandro) that could have done just as well !!!

  5. Sherwood leaving Sandro out because of his form is as pathetic as it gets. On his worst day Sandro is average at worst. On any other day he's bloody awesome. If he was to drop players because of form, there's about 10 players that would be on my list before Sandro.
On a brighter note, Eriksen and Lloris were both excellent today. Followed by Kane and Lennon. Everyone else were average.

  6. I dont know – maybe i was in a different dimension – Naughton solid at right back, Fryers confortable thruout. Rose defensively solid. Any half decent team would have torn us apart, we were lucky we played Fulham today. More than half the team belong in the Championship

  7. John and Craig spot on. I think a new manager, at least a couple of defenders and not loose our best players and we will be very good

  8. Fryers struggled early on but improved. Naughton was a weak link throughout mainly due to his inability to use his left foot. Rose didnt screw up……thats the best that can be said. Paulinho did loads of work bringing the ball forward off the defense. Chadli is out of position. I think there may be another DM in the club who isnt supposedly good enough

    • Sandro apart from his obvious ability brings chaRACTER which is obvious to many which lifts the team and the supporters. surely tim must know this

  9. Sherwood's well out of his depth. Let's hope van Gaal doesn't go to Man U as Moyes seems on his way out. Levy should get that deal done before the World Cup or we'll loose him!
