Pochettino and Levy hold positive talks

According to The Daily Telegraph Mauricio Pochettino has held positive discussions with Daniel Levy over his future, with Chelsea now resigned to the fact there is virtually no chance he will push for a move to Stamford Bridge.

Hopes have been raised that Pochettino will stay at Spurs and recommit himself by signing a new contract, and the article adds that sources claim talks between the Argentine and Levy have gone well and that more are scheduled.

The article adds that there has been doubts over Pochettino’s future last week after he revealed he would speak to Levy about the direction Spurs are heading in and urged the club to be brave.

It adds how Pochettino wants the green light to go ahead with a £150million overhaul of his Tottenham squad and start business immediately and the article says it seems Levy may be prepared to grant some of his manager’s wishes with the chairman keen for Pochettino to sign a new deal that could be worth £8.5m a year.

It goes on to say how Pochettino is committed to Tottenham until at least 2021, but Levy would like him to at least extend that by a further 12 months.

The article goes on to describe how Pochettino has been well aware that he has admirers elsewhere, particularly at Chelsea, but it does add that there is little optimism at Stamford Bridge that Pochettino will force his way out and Chelsea are now said to be focussing their attention elsewhere, with Luis Enrique currently rated as the likeliest successor to the Italian.

  1. Well I hope Levy had a few words with MP regarding the next buying session and reminded him of the money that has previously been made available for him to waste ie Llorente, Jannsen, NKoudou, Njie, Sissoko and the fantastic Aurier ! A repeat of this lot during the summer will surely result in the end of his potless reign !!

  2. I totally agree with Kaybee Pochettino is not a good judge f buying players.
He has so much ego he believes he really is great.
His tactics against Juventus was pathetic and his continual picking of Sissoko is just a joke. A £30 million waste of money. So much for Pochettino selecting players to buy.!

  3. Spot on. Its not exactly brain surgery that’s required to see what is needed. I’d be brutal and ship out quite a number, starting with both Lloris and Vorm. For every good save the fumbling frog makes, he lets himself down when it comes to using his feet or brain. Distribution and decision making is alien to him. Vorm is simply not good enough. Replace with Heaton from Burnley and promote Gazzaniga to No2. Get rid of Aurier as we have a much better option in KWP. Make your bloody mind up re Alderweireld and Rose. Either pay em and keep em, usually better the devil you know , or get rid and replace with de Ligt and Tierney. Get a DM player that can win the ball and bloody pass from A to B consistently as this appears to be a far to difficult technical drill for both Dier and Wanyama. Id get rid of Wanyama and relieve Drinkwater from his hell at Chelsea. They don’t need both him and Barkley on the bench ( they only bought both to stop any other club from getting them) and as Barkley made his bed, let him lay in it. If you buy Drinkwater, then the obvious Kane back up/ partner has to be Vardy. The man is dynamite in front of goal as proved 2 weeks ago, and with his old supply source behind him, he’d be ideal. All that’s left is a marque signing, Bale, Pulisic, Zaha, someone to get fans off their seat with excitement at the new stadium. Just ditch those not good enough, but there lies the problem as MP bought most of them !!!
