Pochettino tells David: “Spurs need a Ginola”

Mauricio Pochettino has revealed to the man himself that his Spurs side needs the flair and guile of club legend David Ginola to breathe life into Tottenham’s ailing domestic campaign.

The article says our form in the Champions League has been excellent but of course our domestic form has nose-dived in recent weeks which includes just one win in our last five league matches, a run which has more or less ended any chance of us winning the Premier League title.

Speaking on the Alan Brazil Breakfast show on talkSPORT Ginola said he spoke with Pochettino at Tottenham’s training ground and said Pochettino admitted the Frenchman’s ability to beat players and find space in behind defences is exactly what he needs right now.

The former France international to said: “Tottenham need a mixture of players. They’ve got Harry Kane upfront who can score goals, which is something we know.”

Ginola added “But I spoke with Pochettino the other week and he told me ‘I would like someone like you, Someone who can take the ball from midfield and run with it and create spaces for himself or for others. And this is what he’s searching for right now.

“We know they can defend and the midfield can create so many things as well, but they need some other attitudes going forward upfront.”

Do you agree? We do seem to lack someone to run at defensive teams, perhaps the return of Lamela will help but our campaign certainly needs kick starting.
