Report: Heung-min Son joins exclusive Spurs club with only three other members

Heung-min Son has joined an exclusive club of Tottenham Hotspur players to have scored 10 goals and provided 10 assists in a single Premier League season (THFC).

The South Korean joins a club of just three other players to have achieved the same feat after an impressive season that saw him land all four of the One Hotspur Members’ and Supporters’ Clubs’ awards.

Son joins just three other former Spurs players to have achieved the same figures with Jurgen Klinsmann (1994/95), Emmanuel Adebayor (2011/12) and Christian Eriksen (2017/18) forming the rest of the exclusive club.

In the 2019/20 Premier League campaign, just two other players joined Son in hitting 10 or more goals and assists, Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne (13 goals, 20 assists) and Liverpool’s Mohammed Salah (19 goals, 10 assists) (BBC).

Sonny capped off a season of awards by winning the BBC Match of the Day Goal of the Season with his stunning solo effort against Burnley in the 5-0 win last December (BBC).

Spurs Web Opinion

In what has been a pretty underwhelming season, Son deserves to take the prizes. I think his goals when Harry Kane was injured have possibly helped him earn the awards, but you can’t argue with the stats. Son has struggled with injury himself this season, causing him to miss some games with a fractured arm.
