Rumour Mill: ‘No Contact’ For Toljan?

According to Jeremy Toljan’s agent Ersin Akan, Tottenham have not yet made any contact over a potential deal, contrary to some reports.

So far this Summer, Spurs are the only Premier League team not to spend a penny on new players, although the North-Londoners have raised cash with no less than four departures.

Recently however, SkySources suggested Tottenham were ‘keen’ to sign Hoffenheim’s 22 year old right-back Jeremy Toljan as the club continues it’s search to replace 27 year old Kyle Walker, who swapped Spurs for Manchester City in a reported £50 million+ move.

Now, Toljan’s agent Ersin Akan has spoken publicly on the rumours, explaining that there has not yet been any contact from Tottenham in regards to a transfer. He told SkySports:

“It is always a pleasure to read big clubs like Tottenham are interested in Jeremy.”

“Spurs are a fantastic club with an excellent progression in the last years, but we didn’t speak to the responsible persons and, for the moment, everything is a rumour.”

After helping the German Under 21s to European Championship glory last month, Jeremy Toljan has emerged as one of the Bundesliga’s hottest prospects.

However, the German has just one year left on his current deal at Hoffenheim and therefore could be snapped up at a cut-down price as low as £3 million.

After missing out on Argentine defender Juan Foyth, I hope Spurs won’t be too stingy on Toljan as well. It’s only £3 million, not a lot of risk in that.

What do you think of the rumours? Would you like to see Toljan sign?
