Rumour Mill: Spurs Closing In On First Summer Signing?

According to a report from Football.London, Spurs may be on the brink of securing a deal to sign 19 year old Argentinian defender Juan Foyth.

So far, there has been little to report in the way of solid Spurs transfer news, however today there may finally be something to talk about.

Football.London reports that Tottenham are set to meet with representatives of 19 year old Argentine Juan Foyth, who’s also attracted interest from PSG, Roma and Inter Milan.

According to Italian outlet Di Marzio, the £10 million rated youngster has identified the Premier League as his preferred destination, making Tottenham the favourites to land the defender this Summer.

The South American youngster, who’s currently on the books at Argentine club Estudiantes De La Plata, recently spoke out on the rumours in an interview with Radio Continental and claimed he’d be open to a move to Tottenham. He said:

“I found out about Tottenham’s interest through social networks. I would like to play in Europe, if something comes up that convinces me and the club I will go.”

“I know that my agent and Veron are able to travel over the Tottenham issue. I am feeling relaxed, on the outside of things.”

Additionally, Football.London has suggested that Spurs could snap up the youngster for as little as £5.7 million.
