According to websites SportsMole and FootballFanCast, Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Swansea defender and Premier League new-boy, Alfie Mawson.
The £15 million rated centre-back has impressed during his time at Swansea, despite nearly being relegated from the Premier League last season.
Mawson only joined Swansea from Barnsley last Summer, in a deal that saw him step up into top flight football for the first time in his career.
At 23 years old, he has seemingly matured beyond his years, having completed 30 interceptions and 169 clearances as well as managing a 79% tackle success rate and an impressive 4 goal tally in his 27 appearances last season.
Additionally, Mawson was only at personal fault for 1 of the 70 goals Swansea conceded in the Premier League.
Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly pondering a move for the young defender, while speculation persists over the future of current defensive cover, Kevin Wimmer, who looks all set to leave Spurs this Summer.
However, both articles cite original inspiration from The Sun, so I’m willing to say it’s nothing to take too seriously, but you never know, I suppose. Would you like to see him sign?
