Victor Wanyama handed Spurs some early new year cheer by being fit and available for selection after more than four months out with a knee injury.
And Mauricio Pochettino has said that the the midfielder’s return is perfect timing as we are facing two Premier League matches in three days, with a Tuesday trip to Swansea City followed by a Thursday London derby against West Ham United.
“Victor is going to be ready and now there is a lot of competition in the squad,” Pochettino told the club’s official website.
Pochettino added: “Now only Toby Alderweireld is still out. It’s great for the team to be available in such a busy schedule.Victor was involved in the last game and now we have a lot of players who can be involved and we’ll see. The good news is that he’s training and available for selection.”
Huge timing from Victor, we’ve been very unlucky with injuries to key men and it’s a huge boost to see the Kenyan return. We need to start gathering points and keep pace with the top 4 and Fa Cup challenge that lies ahead
