Spurs “cannot stop” in pursuit of Top four and Fa Cup success

Mauricio Pochettino says his players “cannot stop” in our pursuit of a trophy this season after a disastrous three-minute spell put an end to our Champions League hopes.

We took a 1-0 lead over Juventus through Heung-min Son but two second-half goals in quick succession, first from Gonzalo Higuain and then Paulo Dybala, saw the Italian side claim a spot in the quarter-finals.

No one expected us to reach this point when the group stage draw was made, but we can’t get away from the fact we had one foot in the last eight thanks to Son’s goal, and that will hurt Pochettino’s maturing side.

He feels Spurs deserved more, but has insisted his players cannot stop with the chase for the Premier League top four and a good shot at the FA Cup still on the horizon.

“I am disappointed because we missed a lot of chances and of course because the team deserved more,” Pochettino said in his press conference ahead of the visit to Bournemouth on Sunday.
“We made mistakes and it was a little bit disappointing. But not only me, the changing room and the players because I think the performance was fantastic.

He added: “Only we can count less than three minutes if you now praise a lot of the play but I think it was a little bit unfair to concede these two goals. It’s tough because until this moment I think Tottenham were much better and the game was under control.

Pochettino concluded:That is football,Keep going and now to try to see the future, a lot of games ahead to play, two competitions and in football you cannot stop.”
