According to The Mirror, Spurs are interested in Southampton keeper Alex McCarthy.

McCarthy has gained has a host of admirers after his impressive end to the season as he ousted Fraser Forster as the club’s No1 and in turn helped Southampton stay up.

And the Mirror say Tottenham are one of the clubs interested as our current No2 Michel Vorm’s contract expires this summer, as he considers his options.

The article goes on to say McCarthy has just a year left on his contract at Southampton and would be ample competition and back up for Hugo Lloris but adds that Wolves, Arsenal and Liverpool have also been checking on McCarthy.

However it does remain to be seen whether Southampton would part with someone who is effectively their number one and also if they would sell us another goalkeeper after we signed Paolo Gazzaniga from he Saints last summer.
