Spurs keeping tabs on French midfielder

According to The Express Tottenham are keeping an eye on Marseille midfielder Morgan Sanson in this summer’s transfer window.

The article says the Frenchman is believed to be seeking a club that can offer Champions League football having lost out in the Europa League final this time around to Atletico Madrid.

Arsenal are also interested but can’t offer Champions League football so Spurs have the edge with Mauricio Pochettino’s men qualifying for next season’s Champions League

Sanson’s agent Michael Manuello has admitted both North London clubs are interested in his man but is unsure of new Arsenal boss Unai Emery’s summer transfer plans.

“Tottenham really follows Morgan,”:Maneullo told Foot Mercato. “Really.Arsenal follows him too. Now, I do not know what Unai Emery will want.

He added: “Sevilla appreciates him a lot. That is true. But I think they will not have the financial means.”

Primarily used attacking midfield last season he bagged ten goals for Marseille as they finished fourth in Ligue 1 while reaching the Europa League final.

The article adds that Chelsea were also rumoured to be interested in the 23-year old by Manuello has indicated the Blues will not sign the Frenchman.He added: “Chelsea will not go any further, they are looking at other things.”
