talkSPORT have reported that Tottenham are preparing a January move for Besiktas star Tolgay Arslan, according to reports in Turkey.
The German born 27-year-old midfielder, who has played at youth level for both Germany and Turkey, has been in sparkling form for the Turkish giants so far this season, leading to plenty of interest from the Premier League.
Newcastle were rumoured to be ready to make a move for Arslan in January, but they would likely face stiff competition from some Premier League rivals for his signature.
And according to talkSPORT one of their potential rivals for his signature could be Tottenham. The article adds that Turkish sports site Fotomac say we are preparing a £7m bid.
The article says Besiktas are thought to be looking for a fee closer to £10m and may be willing to do business should their initial valuation be met.
Can’t say it’s a player I’ve heard of before, and perhaps at 27 his age may well be a factor.
