Spurs to rest Kane for cup replay

Tottenham head coach Mauricio Pochettino is likely to make changes for Wednesday’s FA Cup third-round tie with Burnley.

The replay is the fourth match of a hectic January for Spurs, with in-form striker Harry Kane one of those in line to be rested at White Hart Lane.

Erik Lamela (calf) and Ryan Mason (hamstring) remain doubtful, while Nabil Bentaleb is at the African Nations Cup with Algeria. DeAndre Yedlin is ineligible.

Provisional squad: Lloris, Vorm, Friedel, Walker, Naughton, Rose, Davies, Dier, Fazio, Kaboul, Vertonghen, Chiriches, Stambouli, Dembele, Onomah, Paulinho, Capoue, Eriksen, Chadli, Lennon, Townsend, Soldado, Adebayor, Kane.

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. Spurs should have done the business at Turf Moor. Burnley have their own selection problems due to injuries. We should be more than capable of winning this replay at the Lane, even if Harry is rested for the match.

  2. Having just finished a cup of tea I thought I would use my fortune telling skills by reading what the leaves had to say They have indicated that Soldado will score late on from a cross by Lennon. Immediately afterwards two pink pigs will fly over the ground.
