Walker Keeping Quiet Over Transfer Rumours

Kyle Walker has refused to shed light on speculation over his future at Spurs, while Manchester City remain linked with the right-back.

Walker has been with the North-London club for 8 years following a move from Sheffield united in 2009, but now reports from the vast majority of English tabloids are suggested he’ll be moving on to a new club this Summer. There have been some Great Welcome Offers linking Walker with a move to City.

Today, The Mirror reported that Spurs have cranked up the price on 27 year old full-back Kyle Walker to £60 million, just a mere hours after Walker himself had refused to comment over where he will playing football next season.

According to The Star, while on England duty, Walker was quizzed over whether or not all the transfer speculation has troubled him or distracted from his football. He responded:

“Not at all. I mean, you know, coming away from club football kind of gives you a little bit of head space.”

“I am an England player now and I am fully focused on a massive game on Saturday. We need to go and get the three points.”

Next, the right-back was asked specifically if he could give fans any indication over which club he’ll be playing for next season. He said simply:

“No. No indication at all.”

Typically, footballers who’re rumoured to be leaving, tend to come out in public to reaffirm their commitment to the club they’re under contract with and dismiss the rumours once and for all. Walker has completely failed to do that. www.online-betting.org is always a good resource to find the best football odds in my opinion and will be using it again next season.

If anything this adds fuel to the fire and really makes me personally doubt his future at the club, for the first time in his entire 8 years with Spurs. Seriously. I didn’t really believe he’d consider leaving Tottenham up until he made this statement and now of course, the papers are reporting that we’ve cranked up the asking price. Seems to be setting in with the Spurs hierarchy now too.

But what do you think? Is there anyone who thinks Walker might stay with us next season? Or is this a dead-set transfer?
