Young has no Dele problem

According to The Mirror Manchester United veteran Ashley Young has admitted he has no problem with Dele Alli heading into the World Cup despite their ‘Zimmer frame’ spat.

Alli told Young to ‘retire with a Zimmer frame’ during our 1-0 defeat to the Red Devils back in October with a clash between the pair being sparked when Young went to ground holding his face after a coming together with Serge Aurier, with Alli making his remarks to the 32-year-old with Young responding by telling Alli: ‘Let me know when you win the Prem’.

However Young has worked his way back into the England squad – in which Alli is a key player – and the pair will represent the Three Lions at this summer’s World Cup.
And Young confirmed there are no problems between the pair over the incident.

“We had a laugh and a joke about it,”:he said.A lot of people say he has to take it out of his game, but I think he’s one of those players that plays on the edge. He winds people up. That’s just him. He’s a fantastic talent and, for me, to have him in the squad is unbelievable. He’s shown in previous get-togethers and the last few days what a talent he can be, and what a talent he is.

Young added: “A lot of things have been said by previous players, but here everybody gets on with everyone,”

On discussing club rivalries in previous England squads, Young said:”Everyone is pulling in the same direction.Obviously there is club rivalry, but when you are here with England, you are representing your country. The rivalries get put to bed. They are put aside. You are fighting together as one team.”
