‘A bit of a knee niggle’ – Postecoglou provides update on Richarlison’s recovery at Spurs

Ange Postecoglou has revealed that both Tottenham and Brazil have been managing Richarlison in recent weeks as he recovers from ‘a bit of a knee niggle’.

Richarlison was not involved in the Tottenham starting XI for the 3-0 defeat to Fulham and was an unused substitute for both of Brazil’s matches during the international break.

However, Postecoglou added that the striker trained today and is now feeling good ahead of an important match on Saturday.

Richarlison is feeling better ahead of Spurs vs Luton

Tottenham Hotspur will be hoping to bounce back from one of the most bitterly disappointing performances of the Postecoglou era against Fulham when they welcome Luton Town to North London this weekend.

While the Hatters are fighting for their lives down the bottom of the Premier League table, Luton have been a tough opponent for almost every Big Six club so far this season.

Spurs fans will remember how close they came to dropping points at Kenilworth Road earlier in the campaign, with Yves Bissouma seeing red for a silly dive just before the half-time whistle.

On Richarlison’s injury recovery, Postecoglou said (Football London): “He is okay. Had a bit of a knee niggle and we’re managing him. Brazil managed him but he trained today and feels good.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

I doubt that Richarlison will start against Luton but it would be good to get 30 minutes out of him off the bench in the second half. I sincerely hope the game is done and dusted by then, but the Hatters have been awkward opponents for big teams so far this season.
