AVB confident Bale will face Monaco

Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas expects Gareth Bale to be back in training on Wednesday and the winger could face Monaco.

The Welsh star missed both matches of Tottenham’s Asia Trophy tournament against Sunderland and South China due to a buttock injury. However the press continue to fuel speculation that Bale is still likely to join Real Madrid this summer, which is totally unfounded.

AVB has kept his patience with the media despite daily interrogation over Bale’s future at Spurs. He has stated on a number of times that Bale is not for sale, and yet the rumours persist.

We face Monaco on Saturday at the Stade Louis II, kick-off is at 5:30pm UK time.

“He is going to be fit to join the team for training on Wednesday,” AVB told the press after our win against South China.

“There is a big possibility he could be fit for Monaco.

“He hasn’t done any training with the team yet but in all of the pre-season friendlies we had before he was involved.

“We are confident he will be able to join us.”
