AVB speaks yet again on Bale’s Tottenham future

Andre Villas-Boas remains confident Gareth Bale will stay at White Hart Lane this summer.

We are all fed up of the speculation linking the Welsh international with a move away from Spurs after we failed to qualify for the Champions League. AVB has already told the press on a number of occasions that he has been assured that Bale will not be sold and will remain in N17.

Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and both Manchester clubs have all been linked with the 23-year-old – who we all hope will sign a new deal as soon as possible.

When asked whether Bale would still be at Spurs next term, Villas-Boas said: “Yes, that’s the information we have.

“It is very, very difficult to lure a player of this dimension away.

“You have to hold onto your best assets.”

Even Daniel Levy’s statement which was issued before the Sunderland match hinted at the fact that the club will look to hold onto our best players.

“Looking ahead to the summer, we shall continue to seek to strengthen and improve the team and to retain key players,” Levy wrote.
