Tottenham Hotspur’s failure to qualify for the Champions League has not meant the end of the race to sign Leandro Damiao.
The Brazilian striker has claimed that he would prefer to join a club who has the same ideas and ambition as what he does. We have been linked with a move for the Internacional striker for more than 18 months but have so far failed to match the valuation for the player.
Damiao admits he would rather play in the Champions League but this news represents a huge opportunity for Daniel Levy to finally complete this prolonged transfer saga. We need a world class forward and Damiao is more than capable of being a hit at the Lane.
“I know of Tottenham’s interest in me but I am happy to wait until the president of my club lets me know something official,” he told the Sunday Mirror.
“I would prefer to play in a team that is in the Champions League, but the most important thing is that they share the same ambition that I have.”
