Stoke want Defoe in £6m deal

Stoke City have made Jermain Defoe their main striking target of the summer transfer window according to the Daily Mail.

New Stoke boss Mark Hughes is said to be keen to partner Defoe once again with Peter Crouch in the hope the pair can rekindle the partnership they enjoyed at Spurs, Portsmouth and England.

According to the report, Spurs are prepared to listen to offers of £6million for the 30-year-old, who has two years left on his contract at White Hart Lane and earns £65,000-a-week.

We all know that our strikers failed to deliver last season. Defoe and Adebayor failed to live up to their expectations in front of goal in what proved costly in the race for Champions League football.

Spurs have been linked with David Villa, Christian Benteke and Roberto Soldado as AVB looks to spice up our attacking options.

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. no Defoe should stay at Spurs bring in another two strikers benteke, and maybe someone else villa is too old and could not operate in epL week in week out..

  2. Defoe have been loyal to Spurs in his professional carrier. Should keep him, get Benteke and Damiao in. We've got a lot of games to play: Carling Cup, FA Cup, Europa Cup and of course the league. Fatigue and injuries will creep in. That's why Defoe should stay……… Sell him and he'll bite us in the ass.

  3. This sentimental thing has gotta us nowhere … he has had enough years to preform time to move on into the future. I like Defoe but both he and Ade lack of finishing hurt us much last year it brought me to cuss so much that i lost count. Defoe with his need to score every chance he miss a lot passing opportunities that cause us goals. every know Ade short comings so no need to go into them. Add 2 strikers blood 2 of the youth strikers and bring in left and right backs to give BAE, Rose and Walker competition to let understand that we done playing sport.
