‘Noises coming out’ – Alasdair Gold on whether there are more incomings for Spurs

Alasdair Gold has revealed that the noises coming out of Tottenham Hotspur are that Pedro Porro appears to be their final incoming of the transfer window, however, the journalist did add the caveat that it is impossible to rule out the prospect of a late deal.

It’s been a frustrating transfer window for Tottenham so far. Sporting Lisbon’s Pedro Porro was earmarked as the number one target for the club this month, but it has taken all month to get the deal over the line.

That move, believed to be an initial loan deal (Record), should be confirmed at some point today by all accounts. After many complications over the weekend, it has been reported that Porro’s switch to Spurs will go through after all (Daily Mail).

Spurs did move to sign Arnaut Danjuma on loan earlier in the window, snatching the player from under the noses of Everton who had even completed a medical according to The Sun.

It is widely believed that Spurs will be done for the day once Porro is announced, and Gold certainly feels the same way. Although, he does suggest we can never be too sure when it comes to deadline day.

Gold told Football.London’s Facebook Live broadcast (14:45 – 31/1/23): “From the noises coming out of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club right now, Pedro Porro does appear to be the last incoming player. However, it is impossible to rule out a late deal happening.”

Spurs Web Opinion

While I would love to see us bring in a centre-back today, I just cannot see any activity happening once the Porro deal is all wrapped up. It’s frustrating, especially as other big clubs in the league are going to great lengths to improve their squad, but it’s not a surprise at all that we’re probably done for the window. Let’s see if Spurs have any surprises up their sleeve, though, shall we.
