YOU’RE THE BOSS: Pick your Spurs team v Sunderland

0

It’s the final game of the season and come 6pm on Sunday we will know which European competition we are playing in next season.

As Hugo Lloris said yesterday, all we can focus on is the job in hand against Sunderland and hopefully Newcastle can do the business against that lot in the 3pm kick-off.

If you were AVB, what would your Spurs starting eleven be for the clash at White Hart Lane? Leave your team below.

Here’s what we have come up with:-

Lloris

Walker Dawson Vertonghen Assou-Ekotto

Lennon Dembele Holtby Bale

Adebayor Defoe

  1. 4-2-3-1. Lloris, walker, Dawson, vertonghan, BAE, dembele, Carroll, Lennon, bale, Dempsey, adebayor. Feel Carroll needs a chance he has good potential and needs to start playing soon. Rest of the team picks itself. Parker needs to be left at home, lost whatever he had from last season and really need to get rid of

    • What is the point of giving Carroll a chance now, when his next game after that is August? Save it until next season. Save Holtby until next season too. Parker has to play. Rich Brown's team with Parker instead of Carroll.

  2. I understand why you went for Holtby but I feel having two creative midfielders is a bit risky… As much as I don't like Huddlestone we must have at least one deep sitting midfielder. Why would you drop Demsey?!?

    My team.

Lloris, Walker, Dawson, Super Jan, Benni, Lennon, Huddlestone, Moussa, Bale, Dempsey, Ade.

  3. We should go all out attack to win the game early on, just in case Newcastle do us a fvour (unlikely I know!), I don't want to be sat there stressing on us getting a last minute goal. Agree with you team, except I'd put Vertonghen or Naughton at left back, with Caulker in the middle.

  4. No point in worrying about conceding, we HAVE to win so go for it from the off. Their best players can't play (and one of them is ours)

    Lloris
    Caulker, Dawson, Vertonghen
    Huddlestone
    Lennon, Siggy, Dembele, Bale
    Adebayor, Defoe.

Subs : Dempsey, Holtby, Walker, Parker, Friedel, Carroll, Ceballos

    • We should worry about conceding. If we concede first a'la Fulham, Wigan, Norwich at home, then we struggle to get back into game – AND will have no attackers to bring on to change things… Not saying that your team can't work, I just think that we should minimise likelihood of conceding.

  5. GK: Lloris

RB: Walker RCB: Dawson LCB: Caulker LB: Vertonghen

    RCM: Parker LCM: Holtby

RAM: Bale CAM: Dembele LAM: Dempsey

    ST: Adebayor

  6. Lloris
Bonzo ( Walker ) Les ( Dawson ) Vert BAE
    Fritz (Holtby) Parker
    Moussa
    Lennon Ade Bale

This the formation that would have got us 3rd. Moussa has to be played behind the attacking 3 with Parker and Fritz as defensive cover. Parker cannot be played anywhere near the opponents box. His 360 turns are useless but with Frtiz they can offer enough cover for the back 4.

Ps the longer it stays 0-0 at Sid James we have chance. But Sc#m will score in 3 mins. Game and Season over.

  7. Tom Carroll has to play. It is ridiculous leaving him out when he is Spurs best midfielder by miles.

    Lloris

    Walker Dawson Vertonghen Assou-Ekotto

    Holtby

    Lennon Carroll Bale

    Adebayor

    • Carroll has not started a premiership game, nor played for most of a premiership game… So there is little basis to call Carroll our best midfielder, let alone by miles. I agree that he should have started a couple of games by now, but it is presently too late to start now. next season. I certainly would not move Bale across to accomodate Carroll.

    …………..lloris……………

    Walker….Dawson… Vert….benny

    ………….dembele…..holtby….

    Dempsey…..bale……siggy

    …. Ade…

I know Dempsey ain’t beat player in the world but he eat goals when needed, also I feel with dembele and holtby Behimd then front 3 then we have enough defensive and creativity from both, all attack from the get go.

  9. My team would be Lloris, Walker, Dawson, Vertonghen, BAE, Lennon, Dembele, Huddlestone, Dempsey, Bale, Adebayor.
Not the biggest Dempsey fan but he's got some absolutely crucial goals for us. Have Defoe & Gylfi as impact subs if needed. I wish Sandro was available for selection, we'd hae had top 4 by now no problem.

  10. Last time I will visit this site thank god. Week in, week out Dempsey is never in your predicted team. Even when he equalizes and sets up the winner, still no love. Not even wasting my time with a predicted eleven when I know what AVB the true master will choose.
