VIDEO: Laudrup comments on Bale speculation

Swansea City coach Michael Laudrup has spoken on the speculation linking Gareth Bale with a move to Real Madrid.

Laudrup has first hand experience of life in Spain, having played for Barcelona between 1989-1994 and then moved to Real Madrid for a couple of seasons.

It seems as if everyone is having their say over the future of the Tottenham star, however in fairness to Laudrup he does class us as a big club as well. It does however seem increasingly clear that Bale will move to the Spanish giants.

If a move is to happen then it would be in best interests for all parties if it were to happen quickly. The season is fast approaching and we don’t need the distraction hanging over us before we kick-off against Palace. If Bale were to leave for a world-record fee, we can also probably expect clubs to try it on with inflated transfer fees when we try and recruit any replacements.

He told a press conference ahead of Swansea’s Europa League qualifier against Malmo: “Well I don’t know if he will go – I’ve read a lot of things in the papers here and in Spain as well. Of course there is huge interest in him. It’s a big, it’s a massive club. There are three or four clubs who say they are the biggest club in the world but (Real) Madrid is definitely one of those. A lot of pressure. Pressure playing here as well – Tottenham is a big club as well – but Madrid is just that step more in every aspect.”
