Report: Mourinho identifies 6’5″ target man he wants to bring to Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly considering a move for Eintracht Frankfurt striker Bas Dost to provide cover for Harry Kane, according to the Daily Mail.

Head coach Jose Mourinho re-iterated his desire to sign a striker before the transfer window closes after watching his side offer little in attack during the 1-0 defeat to Everton in Sunday’s Premier League opener (BT).

The report claims that Dost, who joined the Bundesliga outfit for £6.5million a year ago from Sporting Lisbon are prepared to allow him to leave for £5.5million.

The 31-year-old is said to have been identified by Mourinho as the industrious target man which he wishes to add to his squad.

Spurs have struggled to find a target man since allowing Fernando Llorente to leave the club on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract last summer.

The North Londoners are reported to have attempted to tried to sign the former Dutch international two years ago before he made the switch to Germany.

Dost, who stands at 6’5″, scored 10 goals in 32 appearances in all competitions for his club last season (transfermarkt).
