“Announce away defeat” – Some fans react to Tottenham injury update against Everton

Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to react to the club’s official injury update prior to Sunday’s match against Everton.

After a relatively clean bill of health for the trip to Liverpool last weekend, apart from the long-term absentee, Hugo Lloris things looked good on the injury front.

Spurs have picked up a couple of injury concerns with Erik Lamela ruled out with a hamstring issue while Jan Vertonghen is considered a doubt for the trip to Goodison Park with a similar problem.

Danny Rose’s one-match suspension means he will sit out the Premier League encounter which has led to some supporters calling upon Mauricio Pochettino to hand Ryan Sessegnon a debut.

Sessegnon is yet to appear for Spurs since making his deadline day move from Fulham due to the hamstring strain he suffered in the summer.

Opinion

It seems unlikely that Pochettino would throw Sessegnon into his starting line-up, considering that the England Under-21 international is lacking match fitness.

A place on the bench for the 19-year-old sounds more sensible with Ben Davies coming in at left-back.

Lamela’s injury record at Spurs has been nothing short of disastrous, with some supporters pessimistic on when they expect to see the Argentine in action again.
