Another Spurs player suffers a hamstring injury; latest team news ahead of Leicester

Another defender has suffered a hamstring injury in what seems to be a now a common problem at Tottenham Hotspur.

Juan Foyth is the latest player to suffer a hamstring strain and is now ruled out of tomorrow night’s Premier League trip to Leicester City.

Foyth is joined by Davinson Sanchez on the sidelines who has been nursing a similar injury for a number of weeks, while Jan Vertonghen recently returned after two months out to make it a hat-trick of hamstring problems in recent months.

Kieran Trippier, who only returned to fitness in Wednesday’s win against Southampton is ruled out after suffering a recurrence of a groin injury.

Elsewhere, Erik Lamela (thigh), Mousa Dembele (ankle), Davinson Sanchez (hamstring) and Victor Wanyama (knee) are continuing to progress with their rehabilitation but will not face the Foxes.

With Foyth now ruled out, it is expected that Jan Vertonghen will come back into the side following his one-match suspension to partner Toby Alderweireld at the heart of the Spurs defence.
