AVB: There was no support from Lampard

Andre Villas-Boas has revealed that he never had the support of Frank Lampard while he was in charge of Chelsea.

The now Tottenham boss was sacked by Chelsea after just nine months in charge at Stamford Bridge and it does come as a surprise that a player such as Frank Lampard who is always labelled a “true professional” by the media would treat a manager in such a way.

AVB admits that his time there was a massive learning curve and has come through it as a better manager, which is something we are reaping the rewards of.

Hopefully we can get one over fat Frank this evening and keep alive our Champions League hopes. COYS!

Villas-Boas told the press: “Yes, there was a lack of support from Frank Lampard but his ability and quality were never in doubt.”

He added: “Whether the Chelsea players supported me does not matter right now. And probably being sacked made me a better manager.”
