Chelsea’s staggering increased demands to Tottenham

Chelsea are trying to charge Tottenham Hotspur four times the amount if they want to take Michy Batshuayi on loan.

According to the Daily Mirror, Chelsea are demanding £8million for the striker to make the move to North London compared to the £2million they were willing to accept for him to join either West Ham United or Real Betis.

Batshuayi is said to be keen to make the move to Tottenham, with Chelsea reluctant to let him join their fierce rivals who are currently above them in the race for a top four finish.

The player is said to be demanding a salary of £170,000-a-week which in itself would be enough to end Tottenham’s interest, along with the fact that his representatives also want a £1m commission fee for brokering the deal.

The paper reports that Spurs have already turned down the chance to bring the Belgian to the club earlier today but the player is still trying to push through a move.

Chelsea are desperate to get the 25-year-old out of Stamford Bridge after he was deemed surplus to requirements.

He has more recently had loan spells at Borussia Dortmund and Valencia with any hopes of him joining Spurs now looking to be dead in the water.
