Clement Lenglet labels one Tottenham teammate as a ‘very good’ player

Tottenham Hotspur defender Clement Lenglet has described his teammate Dejan Kulusevski as a ‘very good player’ during a game of guess the player on the Tottenham YouTube channel.

Lenglet is on a season-long loan at Tottenham this season and has made 28 appearances for the North London side so far this term (Transfermarkt).

There were no purchase clauses in the original deal to bring the French defender from Barcelona, and it’s unknown whether he will remain at Spurs beyond this season.

Recent reports suggested a permanent move for Lenglet was being discussed, with Spurs thought to have moved ahead with negotiations for a deal worth around £12.3 million (Sport).

The 27-year-old has clearly gotten to know his teammates at Spurs pretty well already this year. When shown a list of clubs, Lenglet was able to identify Kulusevski without any trouble.

Lenglet was given the clues of Atalanta, Parma, and Juventus, and replied: “Ah, it’s Deki – very good player!”

He’s a good judge of ability, too, it seems. Kulusevski has made a big impact at Tottenham since joining last January and now has seven goals and 15 assists in 48 appearances for the Lilywhites (Transfermarkt).

The Swedish star has found things a little more difficult this campaign, with injuries hampering his progress at Spurs. Nevertheless, the 22-year-old is still regarded a key player at the club.

Kulusevski’s own future at Tottenham still needs to be resolved. Having arrived on an initial loan deal, Spurs can make that move permanent for a fee of £31 million (Fabrizio Romano).

Recent reports from CalcioMercato suggest that will still happen, despite the departure of Antonio Conte.

Spurs Web Opinion

Kulusevski may have had a slightly underwhelming season, but so have most of the Spurs players.

We need to make his move permanent immediately this summer and hopefully we can see him back at his best next season.
