Confirmed Line Ups: Southampton vs Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has picked his side which will face former side Southampton at St Mary’s this afternoon.

Tottenham have lost just one of their last 13 Premier League meetings with Southampton (W10 D2), scoring at least once in all 13 games.

However, Spurs go into the game having lost their last two away league games, the same number they’d lost in their previous 13 on the road (W11 D0 L2). They’ve only lost three in a row on the road under Mauricio Pochettino once before (November 2017).

Pochettino will be watching on from the stands as he serves the first of his two-match touchline ban, assistant Jesus Perez will be the man at pitchside who will be passing on the instructions to the players.

Nothing less than a victory will do for Spurs if they are to tighten their grip on a top four finish.

This is who starts.

Southampton: Gunn, Valery, Yoshida, Vestergaard, Bednarek, Bertrand, Ward-Prowse, Romeu, Hojbjerg (c), Redmond, Austin

Subs: McCarthy, Stephens, Long, Armstrong, Targett, Sims, Slattery

Tottenham Hotspur: Lloris (C), Walker-Peters, Sanchez, Vertonghen, Rose, Dier, Sissoko, Eriksen, Dele, Lucas, Kane.

Subs: Gazzaniga, Davies, Foyth, Wanyama, Lamela, Son, Llorente
