Defoe to return to England squad

Jermain Defoe will rejoin the England squad on Friday following the funeral of his father.

The Tottenham striker sadly lost his dad after a battle against throat cancer on June 7th and travelled back to England for two days following the news.

Defoe showed strength of character by returning to Roy Hodgson’s squad and came on as a subsitute during the 1-1 draw with France in Donetsk.

We’re predicting a big season ahead for Defoe. He didn’t feature a lot under Redknapp last season having to mostly settle for a place on the bench but still managed 11 goals in 25 Premier League games.

Plus, he’s currently our only senior striker!
