Dempsey ready for Chelsea test

Tottenham’s Clint Dempsey feels they are well placed to end Chelsea’s unbeaten start to the new season.

The summer signing from Fulham has been a fixture in AVB’s side in recent weeks which has coincided with our recent run of great form.

Saturday’s early kick-off at White Hart Lane is a huge game for us. AVB will be looking to face his former side with plenty to prove and it will be a test of how we could fare against the title chasers this season.

“It is going to be an important game because the table is so tight,” he told Sky Sports News HD.

“You have to take care of your home games and try and get as many results as you can.

“We want to continue this run of positive results, so we know it is going to be a tough test but we are all excited, and we have everyone back from fitness now and we are looking to make the most of this game.”

“I feel like am settling in,” he continued.

“I have played in seven games, and six starts – with a goal and assist in the league and I would like better numbers than that but at the same time I am feeling good and playing consistently, I am playing well but I just want more goals and assists as it feels I am contributing more.”

  1. friedel/lloris
    walker gallas caulker vertonghen
    sandro dembele
    lennon dempsey bale

thats what i would go with if all are fit. maybe AVB will start with defoe and bring adebayor on in the second half. I see dembele was subbed at half time for belgium, hope this wasn't due to injury. Also Lloris saved a penalty and two other great saves against spain in the week so he may well get the nod.
