Dortmund sweating on the fitness of star man ahead of Spurs Champions League clash

Borussia Dortmund have suffered an injury concern to one of their star players ahead of next Wednesday’s Champions League clash against Tottenham Hotspur.

The German side were last night in domestic cup action against Werder Bremen in the DfB Pokal and saw Marco Reus having to be substituted after 46 minutes.

The 29-year-old had moments earlier levelled for Lucien Favre’s side from a free-kick just before the half time break.

Reus’ goal was his 16th in all competitions for Dortmund this season and has also chipped in with 11 assists.

The German international was seen feeling his groin as he walked off the pitch at half time at Signal Iduna Park and failed to return for the second half and was replaced by Paco Alcacer.

The evening did not get any better for Tottenham’s European opponents after they lost on penalties to Bremen having lost on penalties after the match ended up as a 3-3 draw after extra time.

Dortmund will certainly be sweating over the fitness of Reus, something which Spurs have been more than used to following a string of injuries this season to key players.
